Among patients with minor non-disabling acute ischemic stroke:
treatment with tPA (compared with aspirin) did not increase the likelihood of favorable functional outcome at 90 days. (However, very early study termination precludes any definitive conclusions). Of note, "non-disabling" was defined as NIHSS < 6 and as judged subjectively by the patient and provider
If criteria are met: defer IV tPA and treat with ASA 325 mg
